How to prepare
To get the best results from your spray tan at COVE, a little preparation goes a long way. Follow these simple steps to ensure an even, long-lasting tan.
The day before your appointment
Exfoliate throughly - Use a Turkish exfoliating mitt to remove dead skin cells, paying extra attention to dry areas like elbows, knees and ankles
Shave and Wax - If needed, do this at least 24 hours before your tan to allow pores to close and avoid dark spots.
Avoid moisturisers and oils - These can leave a barrier on your skin and prevent even colour absorption.
On the Day of Your Appointment
Arrive with clean, product-free skin (no deodrant, makeup, perfume or lotion)
Wear loose dark clothing - This prevents rubbing and helps your tan develop evening.
Remove jewellery - To avoid wanted lines
After Your First Rinse
Pat, don’t rub - When drying, gently pat your skin dry with a towel to avoid removing colour
Moisturise daily - Hydrated skin helps your tan last longer and fade evenly. Use a good quality cocoa/shea body butter
Use gently, sulphate free body wash - Harsh soaps and exfoliants will strip your tan faster
Immediately After Your Tan
Avoid water and sweating - Stay dry until your first rinse. Follow the time advised at your appointment
Wear loose, dark clothing - Tight clothes can rub and cause uneven patches
Don’t apply products - No lotions, perfumes, deodorants or makeup until after your first rinse

Ongoing Care
Avoid long hot baths, saunas and chlorine - These will fade your tan quicker
Exfoliate before your next appointment - Any remaining tan can lead to an uneven finish, so starting with an fresh, clean canvas is essential for an flawless glow
